Membership Meetings Fifty two members turned out at Riggio's on Sunday April 1 for our annual Spring Membership meeting. Our guest was State Representitive Daniel Biss of the 17th District (pictured on left).   On the right David Arieti and Chet Kulis conduct a raffle for our members.

AFA History After over a year of hard work by author Barbara Vallaly who went through piles of old records and clippings and interviewed present and past members of the AFA as well as IEA staff, the AFA History is almost ready for publicaton. An excerpt of this history is available here. If you would like to purchase your own copy for $5, to cover printing, contact John Bishop info@oaktonafa.org or stop by the AFA office during office hours.

AFA Office The AFA office located in room 2470 Des Plaines will be open during the Spring 2012 semester on Mondays from 10 - 11 AM and Wednesdays from 10 - 12AM. You may stop by or call the office at 847-635-2193. Office Manager John Bishop will be happy to answer your questions about AFA and our contract or refer you to someone who can. If you have questions for the AFA you can also e-mail them to info@oaktonafa.org. AFA officers will monitor this email address and forward your inquiry to the appropriate person.

AFA Members Blog Your AFA board is pleased to announce an addition to our website in the form of a blog. This moderated blog is for AFA members to share their ideas and opinions on issues relevant to the adjunct experience, teaching in a community college, the Oakton experience, or the IEA/NEA experience.
