Instructions and Policies for Submissions

Rules for Submission of Blogs: This is a moderated blog, the AFA reserves the right to reject submissions or comments.
- Only AFA members may post or comment. See FAQ for information on AFA membership.
- Posts must berelevant to the adjunct experience, teaching in a community college, the Oakton experience , or the IEA/NEA experience.
- Anonymous posts will not be accepted.
- Posts may not negatively single out specific individuals in the Oakton Community or IEA/NEA. Generic terms should be used such as “employee” or “administrator”. Terms such as Department chair, Dean, or Vice President may be too specific based on the context.
- Posts should be limited to approximately 500 words, comments to 200 words.
The AFA reserves the right to making minor editorial changes in format or wording to conform to the regulations above. Although postings and comments are open only to AFA members, this blog is available to anyone on the internet and should reflect favorably on our union.
Procedures: Send email to blog@oaktonafa.org
- Clearly identify yourself, we cannot accept anonymous posts or comments or posts or comments by non-members.
- Short posts and comments should be in the body of the e-mail.
- Longer posts may be attached using MS word compatible format.
- Small pictures, such as graphs, should be in .jpg format and should be attached.
